I’m Carolyn Komatsoulis
Hi. I’m Carolyn. I’m currently a reporter for the Idaho Statesman where I write about breaking news and Latino affairs. Before that, I was at the Idaho Press covering Boise, Meridian and Ada County. At my first paper, in Nebraska, my editors and I won first place in news writing in the Nebraska Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest
My journalism career technically began when I started my own newspaper in the 2nd grade. It was printed on printer paper in columns, included clip art, and once broke the news that my sister’s substitute teacher was my friend’s mom.
Since then, I’ve interned at local papers, MuckRock, and Voice of America where I’ve written articles about soda contracts which have garnered national attention, written investigative stories about the D.C. Metro, and covered the Massachusetts State House, among other stories.
I am a graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication, an avid explorer and most importantly, a big fan of football.
